Local transmission of COVID-19 remains at the HIGH level, therefore masks will be required indoors and on buses next week, September 7 through September 10.

As a reminder, there is No School on Monday, September 6, 2021 for Labor Day.

Due to the heavy rains forecasted for the afternoon, Morgan County Schools will be dismissing 2 hours early today. All after-school and evening activities are canceled.

In preparation for the forecasted heavy rainfall over the next couple of days, we wanted to let parents know that the school schedule may need to be adjusted. There is a possibility that we may need to do an early release tomorrow afternoon and a potential for a possible delay on Thursday. Please make sure that you have alternative plans for your children and communicate those plans to the school as needed. We are monitoring the weather closely and will keep you posted if we need to change our normal operating schedule. Thank you!

Local transmission of COVID-19 remains at the HIGH level, therefore masks will be required indoors and on buses next week, August 30 through September 3.

Wishing our students a great first day back.

On Friday, July 2, 2021, Morgan County Schools experienced a ransomware cyberattack. Due to a quick response by our technology department, the attack was contained to our internal network environment. We are working closely with our security partner to mitigate the issue and any potential impacts.

Happy Independence Day

We’re seeking input from Morgan County parents, students, employees, and community members as we plan for the use of Federal ARP Funding.

We have received word that all mask mandates from Governor Justice and the WVDE have now been lifted. Staff and students are no longer required to wear masks for any reason. Staff and students may wear a mask if they choose to do so, but no one is required to wear one at this time. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have navigated the pandemic together.

At their meeting last night, the Morgan County Board of Education removed the requirement for students under Grade 3 to wear masks. The mask guidance now in effect for schools is that of Governor Justice and the WVDE. At their direction, masks are still to be worn by all school staff and students in Grade 3 and above on school property when not participating in physical activity and social distancing cannot be maintained. Masks are also to be worn on school buses at all times. At this time, the WVDE's mask guidance is slated to continue through June 20, 2021. We will keep you updated as we receive additional information.

Morgan County Schools honored retirees this week with a celebration at the County Inn. We want to wish them all the best with their retirement.
