Today some of our students, interested in attending Military Academies, participated in a presentation with Senator Joe Manchin. Students listened intently as Senator Manchin spoke to them about the admissions process and how to get a nomination from a senator or congressmen in order to apply to one of the prestigious academies. Our school was one of at least 30 other schools to participate in this presentation.

NHSDA (National Honor Society of Dance Arts) participated in the annual United Way Day of Caring. We worked in partnership with the MAC Icehouse to clean out the 2nd floor prop room. It was a morning full of dust, sweat, and stairs but rewarding to see the progress.

Hall of Fame Activities Set for this Weekend
The Berkeley Springs Athletic Hall of Fame will recognize new members: Cody Hess, Adam Mason, Lloyd Golden, the 1965 State runner up wrestling team, and the 1980 state semi-finalist boys' basketball team at activities this weekend.
On Friday evening, September 15, those members choosing to attend, will meet at the entrance gate near the baseball field to be introduced to the home football crowd before the start of the football game.
On Saturday evening, the new entrants and their guests will be treated to a banquet, in their honor, at 5 PM. in the cafeteria. At approximately 6:15, those participants, plus any members of the public, who wish to attend, will enter the Connie Perry Auditorium for the induction ceremony.

Berkeley Springs High School would like to thank Lee Dean and the Secretary of State's office for educating our seniors on Jennings Randolph and the history of their right to vote. Also, a big thanks to our county clerk's office for giving them the opportunity to register. Students also got the chance to use a mock voting machine.

Today we had the pleasure of having Mr. Wayne Bennett from James Rumsey Technical Institute come in to speak to our 10th Grade English Classes. Students learned about the programs at JRTI and were able to pick their top 4 program choices to tour during our upcoming field trip to their campus! 10th Grade parents and guardians, be on the lookout this week for the permission form for our field trip. 10th grade students will be touring JRTI campus on October 4th 2023!

Attendance Matters! BE HERE - GET THERE!

For the month of August, we had 50 staff members with perfect attendance! Three names were randomly selected, and those staff members (in the picture below) were given a token of appreciation! The items were donated by
Mineral Springs Trading Company (https://mineralspringstrading.com/). Thank you for your donation to award our staff!

THANK YOU for your donation during the 2023 - 2024 school year! Your generosity will be making a difference in our school. It’s donors like you that enable us to either make progress toward improving attendance (along with recognizing our students and staff) and/or assist with the needs of our new therapy dog, Skye. We’re excited that you’ve chosen to help us along our journey. Thanks again!

The Berkeley Springs cross-country teams would like to invite you to our 2nd annual Cacapon Resort State Park 5K Run/Walk at the beautiful Cacapon Resort State Park.
This is a beautiful, yet challenging course. The race starts with a steep incline before leveling off. The second- and third-mile feature nice hills along with paths of the park.
We would like to thank Valley Health for sponsoring this event.

Tough loss to Frankfort with the BSHS soccer team but Malcolm Johns got the Indians on the board with an incredible goal in the second half.

Shout out to the BSHS girls soccer team for their 4-3 victory over Frankfort!! Tenacious Ray, Melissa Seabright, and Albani Cirigliano all scored and Circe Powell had the game winner with a little over 8 minutes left in the second half! Way to go Indians!
