The State of West Virginia and the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) are pleased to offer, at no cost, premier summer programs for students following their seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades in school. The Intramural Basketball tournaments have come to an end!
8th Grade: Champion = Gates, 2nd place = Boyce, 3rd place = Wilson
7th Grade: Champion = Agregaard, 2nd place = Place, 3rd place = Hessler
6th Grade: Champion = Stotler, 2nd place = Harrington, 3rd place = Penner
For the next two weeks, we will be taking a break from tournament play. Students will still be attending “Open Gym” during their designated time for recreational activities!





As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, January 16 for Martin Luther King, Jr Day.


Thanks to a wonderful donation to WSMS from Scott and his family and the help from MC after 3, the students have the opportunity to raise trout in Mrs. Cockrell's Science classroom! Students have been learning how to check the water temperatures, the PH levels, how to run a tank effectively, and collect data to write observations. Also, thank you to Megan from Paw Paw schools for helping provide the fish to get started! It truly is amazing how this community works together 🐺

We hope that everyone is enjoying their Winter Break. As a reminder, school will be back in session on Tuesday, January 3. At this time, to ensure the safety of our students and staff, all visitors should be prepared to present photo identification upon entering our buildings.

Morgan County Schools will be operating on a two hour delay for Friday, December 16. We are monitoring power outages, downed trees blocking roadways, and general road conditions and will reevaluate in the morning. Employees follow reporting code D.

The 6th grade Science team experimented with electromagnetic waves by using Slinky's, springs, magnets, flashlights 🔦 (visible), UV (black lights), X-ray, infrared, analog and digital waves! They were very creative and introduced many new ideas to each other. They have been collaborating as a team to accomplish goals.
Mrs. Cockrell is very excited to watch them grow together!


The Wolves wrestling team is hosting the Fear the Pack Duals today starting at 10:00 AM at Berkeley Springs High School. Come out and support the team as they battle it out with 9 teams for the team championship.

West Virginia National Guard announces their 2023 Child and Youth Leaders camps with a discounted Early Bird registration fee from 1 December 2022 - 1 March 2023.
All registrations after 1 March 2023 will be at regular camp cost. Application period closes 1 May 2023.
