Today WSMS was privileged to host Rachel's Challenge and the story of Rachel Joy Scott a young victim of Columbine High School.
Our presenter Chris Mowery did an amazing job and our students were fantastic.
This journey taught us all about the true value of being kind.

To make great things happen you have to have some great help.
We will be having a PTSO meeting tomorrow night at 6:00 PM at the WSMS Media Center if you want to help.

Warm Springs Middle School is working with Rachel’s Challenge to stimulate academic achievement and social-emotional learning by focusing on the connection between students, faculty, and staff. Using the remarkable story of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine High School tragedy, Rachel’s Challenge awakens individual hope and purpose, which in turn promotes safer, more connected school communities. A Rachel’s Challenge staff member will share Rachel’s story with the entire school on Tuesday,April 4, 2023. Rachel's Challenge prevents school violence, bullying, and youth suicide through live and digital mental health programs in schools. If you have concerns, please feel free to call Tiffany Giles (Community in Schools Liason) at 304-258-1500 ext. 416 or email tiffany.giles@k12.wv.us.

Below are the administration instructions for the Spring 2023 WV School Learning Environment Survey for parents or caregivers of students at:
Warm Springs Middle School, Morgan County (058-301).
The online parent survey will be available from February 20 through April 7, 2023.
Parents are asked to complete an online survey about school climate—the learning and teaching/working conditions—to help guide school improvement efforts. The results of this survey will be used to make changes in their child's school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning. The survey may be completed from any computer with an internet connection.
Parent participation in the survey is very important. If parents have questions about the survey or problems completing the survey, they should contact their child's school. To protect parent/caregiver confidentiality, at least 10 parents must take the survey for results to be summarized for your school.
When parents log onto the survey, they will see explanatory information about the survey and the important information below as to their rights as a survey participant:
Your participation is voluntary. You may choose not to participate; not to answer any questions you do not want to answer; and you may stop participating at any time during the survey without penalty. Your responses will be anonymous and confidential.
Parents can access the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WVSLES_P_S23
Parent login code: P058301

The 6th grade Science class experimented with tornadoes, cyclones, and whirlpools. Chemiluminescence & Bioluminescence was also integrated into the day!
