Halloween was Spooktacular!!

Our Pumpkin Patch was a field full of fun and the hayride was an added treat! Thanks to all who helped us with this extra special day!

On Tuesday, we will be hosting our annual Parade of Characters! As a reminder, parents are invited to watch the parade; it will begin at approximately 1:00 and students will walk around the loop in front of Widmyer. Parents will need to stand in the grass or among the cars on the lower portion of the parking lot. After the parade, students will re-enter the building. Homeroom parents may then also enter the building to support classroom parties. So that we can maintain safety and stay below building capacity, any other visitors will NOT be permitted to enter the building. Thank you for your cooperation.

Parent Advisory Council

A few important reminders:
*2 hour early dismissal (12:51) on Friday.
*No school for students on Monday.
*Picture orders are due to the school or online by Oct 10 (Tuesday).
*Joe Corbi fundraisers are due to the school or online by Oct 10. Last year we sold over $30,000 (Yes!) of items. We are currently at $5,000. Let's see if we can beat last year. Proceeds are used to pay for things like assemblies, bounce houses, etc. Every penny helps.

As a reminder, tomorrow is our fall picture day. We will be taking individual student pictures. Then on Friday, we will be celebrating our first monthly RED Friday. We are asking everyone to wear red to 'Remember Everyone Deployed.'

In an effort to help improve the security of our students, all visitors to Widmyer will be required to show proper identification when signing out a child regardless of how well you know the staff member on duty. This includes students picked up during the day as well as after school. Please make sure that you have your photo identification with you before coming to the school. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to improve the safety of your children and our students.

Please join us again this year in supporting our Purple Star program!! We will be celebrating our community military service members by wearing RED every 4th Friday of the month to Remember Everyone Deployed!!

Dear Widmyer Community,
Please read and share this with your class.
We're excited to announce that Dot Day is just around the corner, and we invite all students, teachers, and staff to join us in celebrating this creative and inspiring event on September 15th, 2023!
Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. It's a day when people of all ages make their mark, whether through art, storytelling, or other creative expressions, celebrating the idea that we all have the potential to make a positive impact on the world.
Here's how you can get involved:
Create Your Dot: Express yourself by creating your own dot artwork. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you like—just let your creativity flow!
Wear Dots: On September 15th, we encourage everyone to wear clothing adorned with dots or even wear a dot on your cheek as a symbol of your participation.
Share Your Dots: Share your dot creations on social media using the hashtags #DotDay and #MakeYourMark to connect with the global Dot Day community. Don't forget to tag our school too so that we can showcase your incredible work!
Dot Day is a reminder that even a small dot can make a big difference in the world!
We can't wait to see the dots you create and the enthusiasm you bring to this special day. Mark your calendars for September 15th and let's make it a day to remember!

Let's make our mark, Widmyer!
